When you add new artifacts to a package template or edit an existing package template, you have to save the package template. This will ensure that the newly added artifacts and the modified settings of the package template are saved.

You can edit the following global and/or artifact level settings:

  • Global Settings

    • Prerequisite

    • Runtime Initialization Settings

    • Additional Settings

  • Artifacts

To save Global Settings

  1. If you are adding artifacts to a package template, open the Add to Package Template dialog box.

    Or

If you are editing an existing package template, then open the Edit Package Template dialog box.

  2. Edit the global settings in the required tree node.

  3. Click Save Settings.

  4. Click Save Template.

The changes to the package template are saved successfully.

To save settings for artifacts

  1. If you are adding artifacts to a package template, open the Add to Package Template dialog box.

    Or

If you are editing an existing package template, then open the Edit Package Template dialog box.

  2. Select the artifact for which you want to edit the settings.

  3. Edit the settings.

  4. Click Save Template.

The changes to the artifacts are saved successfully.

Note: If you have edited the settings for an artifact and if you click any other tree node, the changes are saved in cache. Click Save Template to save these changes in the database.

    To validate SQL Scripts

If there is a SQL script generated for the current artifact, the SQL script will be validated when you perform either of the following:

    • Click any other tree node.

    • Click the Save Template button.

The SQL server validation is performed based on the configuration defined for the Validate SQL scripts option in Additional Settings page.

For more information about validating SQL scripts, see Validate SQL Scripts.

Note: In System Platform IDE, while configuring Data Grid, the Column Settings window and the Edit Operations Settings window may not appear as expected. Resize the windows to get the proper view.
