AVEVA Work Tasks provides two default home pages: Home Page 1 and Home Page 2. Based on user rights assigned by the administrator, users are automatically directed to either Home Page 1 or Home Page 2.
Each home page includes multiple Web Part Zones where users can place Web Parts. The assigned home page also serves as the landing page depending on the user’s security group rights.
In addition to the two default home pages, AVEVA Work Tasks provides two home page templates. (Refer to Home page 1 and Home page 2)
Based on the assigned security group, one of these home page templates is set as the landing page for users in that group. Users with appropriate permissions can personalize their home pages. See Personalize Scope in Web Parts for details on personalization options.
Security group assignments
As an example, organizations may configure security groups as follows:
-
Senior Developer assigned to the Reader security group.
-
Division Head assigned to the Contributor security group.
-
CEO assigned to the Administrator security group.
-
Users in the Limited Access security group may not have a home page assigned and can only access the Inbox.
Note: The actual security group assignments are configurable and may vary based on your organization’s setup.
The commonly available Web Parts that can be added to home pages include Inbox, BAM, Calendar, and Queue. The availability of these Web Parts depends on security group assignments, administrator configuration, and personalization rights.
Default Web Parts are placed on these home pages based on the user’s assigned security group. However, the Inbox (or work item web part) is common to all security groups and always displays a user-specific Inbox.
For details on web part permissions, see Security rights for Web Parts.
