Process Designer Rights

To set Process Designer rights, perform the following steps:

  1. Login to the Enterprise Console.

  2. Click Repository Settings.

  3. Click Advance Settings > Manage Security Group.

  4. Click the required security group for customization and click Actions > Edit from the ribbon bar or right-click the security group and select Edit from the context menu.

  5. For example, select Administrator security group and select Edit or right-click this group and select Edit from the context menu. The Modify a Security Group page appears.

  6. Scroll down and click the Set Process Designer Rights link to set the Process Designer rights. Once you click the Set Process Designer Rights link, the Set Process Designer Rights page appears where you can set the rights for actions and menus. This page displays all the action categories and menus that are available for the repository.

  7. Select the Check for Inclusion check box to include the selected categories, activities, properties and menu items or unselect the Check for Inclusion check box for excluding the selected categories, activities, properties and menu items for the Process Designer.

  8. After selecting the Categories, Activities, Properties and Menus, click Save to include/exclude the rights for the Process Designer.

  9. Click Save. This will redirect you to the main Security Group window.

    Note: The Reset button is used to reset the previous settings.

  10. Click Save to reflect the changes made in Set Process Designer Rights window. The main window gets closed and the Synchronization window is displayed.

  11. Click Yes to synchronize the changes to the below level or click the Submit button to not to synchronize.

  12. An alert message will pop up saying Security Group has been modified successfully. Click OK to close this window.

  13. Open the Process Designer window to view the effects of the security settings on the action and menu rights.

    Note: If the Check for Inclusion option is selected, the selected action rights and menu rights will be available in the Process Designer window. The user will have access to all the actions and menus which are selected. If the Check for Inclusion option is not selected, the selected action rights and menu rights will not be available in the Process Designer window. The User will not have access to the actions and menus which are selected. See Inclusion and Exclusion for more information.

The following are the Process Designer rights:

  1. Action Rights - Rights for controlling the categories, actions and properties. The user can control the categories, actions, properties that are displayed in the Process Designer. See Action Rights for more details.

  2. Menu Rights - Rights for controlling the Process Designer menus like can export, can import, can validate definition, can set work items fields. See Menu Rights for more details.
