Access Queues in the Work Items List

The work items corresponding to activities assigned to queues will be delivered in the Work items list of all the actors who are participants in the respective queues. The Work items list will show separate folders for each queue that the logged in user belongs to. The tasks assigned directly to the user are listed for view in the Inbox.

To access work items assigned to the queues:

  1. For each queue, you can open a list of all tasks available for selection by clicking on the corresponding folder, provided you have the rights to view and select tasks. The task selected from the queue will be added to the Inbox.

  2. If you have the rights to pick tasks from queues, you can select the queue from the drop-down list at the top and click on the Next Item button to retrieve the next available task from the queue. This task will get listed in the Inbox. The task is assigned on the basis of the dispatch provider algorithm selected during configuration. AVEVA Work Tasks has two dispatch providers, First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and Last-In-First-Out (LIFO). Users can create their own dispatch providers and configure them for use. The Next Item button is displayed even for participants who have been assigned no access rights.
