Work with Package Template

You can use the Package Template list in the source environment to create and design a package template to which you can add artifacts and update the configuration settings.
You can use the Package Template list to perform the following tasks that helps you create, design, and export a package template file:

Actions Executable in the Ribbon Menu
The following table lists the actions that you can perform from the action bar of the Package Template list:

Description |

|
Navigate icon to navigate from the current folder to the parent folder. This feature is helpful when you are accessing a folder within the Package Templates and you want to navigate back to the parent folder of the Package Template List. |

New Package Template icon to create a package template. |
|
|
Folder icon to group and categorize the package templates. |
|
|
Edit icon to modify or delete the artifacts, define the target values, configuration state, and the prerequisites. |
|
|
View icon to view the package template in read-only mode. |
|
|
Delete icon to delete the selected package templates. |
|
|
Publish icon to publish the selected package template. |
|
|
Unpublish icon to unpublish the selected package template. |
|
|
Generate icon to generate the package file. The generated package file has the .awsPKG extension. |
|
|
Export icon to export the packaged file to a specific folder. |
|
|
Organize icon to organize the Package Templates and group it in specific folders. |
|
|
Security Settings icon to define security at the List Item level. |
Actions Executable in the Shortcut Menu
The following table lists the actions that you can perform from the shortcut menu of the Package Template list:

Edit |
Modify or delete the artifacts, define the target values, configuration state, and the prerequisites. |
|
View |
View the details of the selected package template in read only mode. |
|
Publish |
Publish a package template that is in draft status. |
|
Unpublish |
Unpublish a package template that is in published, generated, or exported status. |
|
Generate |
Generate a published package template. |
|
Export |
Export the package template file. |
|
Mark as Shipped |
Mark the package template as shipped once it is exported. |
|
Save As |
Save the package template in different versions. By default, when a package template is created it is saved as version 1. |
|
Delete |
Delete the selected package template. You can delete the package template irrespective of the status.
|
|
Show All versions |
View all the versions. This option is useful as the package template list displays only the latest published version of the package template or only the latest version of a draft when all the versions of the package template are in draft status. |
|
Security Settings |
Define security at the List Item level. |
Note: Package template created in previous version of AVEVA Work Tasks must be regenerated.
