Lock and Unlock Designers

You can use the Lock and Unlock feature of AVEVA Work Tasks to lock the designers such as Process Designer, Forms Designer, and List designer while editing. When the designer is locked, other users will not be allowed to edit or modify it. A lock icon appears beside the locked designers as shown in the following image:

Functionality of Lock and Unlock

• You can lock or unlock a list item from the context menu.

• Every list item that you open for editing gets locked automatically.

• You can view the name of the user who has locked the list item. Place the mouse pointer on the lock icon to view the user name.

• Only the user who has locked the list item or the users of administrative security group can unlock the list item.

• You can see a lock icon beside each locked list items. The lock icons have the following significance:

  • : This lock icon indicates that the list item is locked by other users.

  • : This lock icon indicates that the list item is manually locked by the logged on user.

  • : This lock icon indicates that the list item is automatically locked by the logged on user.
