Recommendations in Web Parts

  • 1 minute read
  1. Security group mapping in list control Web Parts

Security group mapping should be applied at both the list level and the list item level to ensure proper access control.

  2. Use multiple List Control Web Parts

When adding multiple List Control Web Parts to a single dashboard or homepage, the following configurations are recommended:

    • Disable the properties:

      1. Show Header

      2. Show Ribbon Bar

    • Use unique view names for each List Control Web Part.

    • Ensure that each list view has the All Items option enabled.

Note: If similar lists are placed in multiple List Control Web Parts on the same homepage, users may face issues viewing the list views correctly.

  3. Grid refresh

After creating or modifying list items or folders in a grid, users are advised to refresh the grid manually to reflect the latest changes.

  4. Web Part sizing

    • Users can specify the height and width of Web Parts using percentage or pixels.

    • Exception:

      • For the Queue Control Web Part, height and width cannot be customized.

      • For the FormsList Web Part, only pixel values are supported for height and width.

  5. Web Part usage in Firefox dashboard

In the Firefox browser, users can move Web Parts across zones using the Web Editor.

  6. Recommended usage limits

To avoid performance or display issues, the following Web Parts should be used only once per homepage:

    • Calendar Control

    • Queue Control

Important: When multiple lists are present in a dashboard, any changes such as adding, editing, or deleting items may not be reflected automatically. Users must manually refresh the grid to view the latest updates.
