Secure Work Item Control - Show Queue

You can secure the Show Queue work item control in the Work items list window.

To secure the Show Queue control for the Contributor user:

1. Log on as the Administrator user.

2. In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Settings, and then click Users. The Users page appears.

3. On the action bar, click New. The Users wizard appears.

4. Create a user. For example, create a user called Tom.

5. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

6. In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Groups page appears.

7. On the Action bar, click New to map 'Tom' to the Contributor security group. To know more about mapping users, see Create a Resource Mapping.

8. Log on as 'Tom' who is a contributor user now. Tom can now view the Show Queue control.

9. To secure the Show Queue control for the contributor user, log on to the Enterprise Console as the Administrator user.

10. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

11. In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page appears.

12. Select any Security Group, and then click Edit. For example, select Contributor security group. The Modify a Security Group page appears. You can see the Work Item Rights in this page.

13. Uncheck the Can View Queue right to control the Show Queue control.

14. Click Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

15. Click Submit. As the work item control rights cannot be customized other than at the repository level, you do not need to synchronize.

16. Click OK in the confirmation window.

17. Log on as 'Tom' user. Now, Tom cannot view the Show Queue control.
