An XML Variable of type XML Document can be used to fetch the required items.

When the variable type is 'XML Document', the following properties are displayed as seen in the image below.

XML Variable Property	Description
Internal Storage	This property is used to specify the internal storage type of the XML Variable. If the selection is Content, then XML Variable value will be stored as content in workflow context. You cannot update values for such XML variables, since the content data cannot be changed during workflow execution. If the selection is Variable, then the same will be stored as a variable. You can update the values for such XML variables using "Update Variable" activity under engine activities. Note: The default storage option of XML variable is Variable.
File	Location of the schema file, if any XML schema is available. Otherwise user can create the schema using Schema designer.
