AVEVA Work Tasks security feature allows the administrator to assign rights for groups and map users to the groups. This option helps you to define security for a view.
The List View Security consists of Standard Settings and Advanced Settings.

Standard Settings is a reporting function that allows you to view the Security for User/Role or the Security Mapping at List Level.

Advanced Settings allows you to modify the existing mapping, add a new resource mapping or delete the existing mapping by enabling mapping at List level.
There are two ways to enable security at list level:

To access Standard Settings

In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Tools, and then click Manage Views. The Manage Views page appears.

Click the Security icon on the Ribbon Bar. The Security Settings page appears.

View Effective Security For User/Role
Click this link to select a role/user and view the effective security group and rights for the selected role/user.

View Security Mapping at List Level
Click this link to view the security mapping at the list level. It provides details of the Security Groups, Roles and Users having access to the List.

To access Advanced Settings

In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Tools, and then click Manage Views. The Manage Views page appears.

Click the Security icon on the Ribbon Bar.

Select the Advanced Settings tab. The Security Settings page appears.

Click the Enable List specific Security link. The Enable Security wizard is displayed.

Description
Security Group Customization
Select this option to complete the wizard and display the Security Group screen.
Security Group is a list which lets the user to create a new security group, modify, view and delete an existing security group. It also lets the user to view the effective mapping for a particular security group, which displays the information about the security group and its mappings, it shows where the entire security group is mapped to the resource and/or modified.

Resource Mapping
Select this option to complete the wizard and display the Security Group Mapping screen.
It allows the user to set the priority, if the user is part of multiple roles and if these roles are mapped to different security groups. While defining the Security Group to Role mapping there will be an option to set a priority number. So in case a user is part of multiple roles and if these roles are mapped to different Security Groups then based on the Lowest priority number given to the roles the security will take effect.

Select the required option(s) and click Next to complete the wizard.

Select the appropriate Security Group and click Edit on the Ribbon bar. If you select the Administrator group security and click Edit, the Modifying an Existing Security Group dialog box appears.

Select the appropriate options and click Save.
Applying security for a list view

AVEVA Work Tasks allows you to apply the security for a specific list view. Then this security will not affect any other views in the Manage View page.
To apply the security for specific view

On the Manage View, select a View and right click.

Select Security Settings from the right click options. The Security Settings page appears.

Select the Advanced Settings tab.

Security Group- Resource Mapping for this List Item
Click this link to add, modify and delete Resource Mapping at List Item level.

Customize Security Group at List Item level
Click this link to customize Security Group at List Item level

Remove Security from this ListItem
Click this link to remove security for deleting the Resource Mapping /Security Group Customization from the intermediate above level.

Click the required link. If you select Customize Security Group for this List Item, the Security Group page appears.

Select appropriate Security Group and click Edit on the Ribbon bar. If you select the Administrator group security and click Edit the Modifying an Existing Security Group dialog box appears.
Note: You can restrict the display of specific view in the List View drop-down by de-selecting the Can Consume Item right of the security group. To display the specific view in the List View drop-down, select the Can Consume Item right of the security group.

Select the appropriate options and click Save.
Note: If you apply the security at View level, it will not affect any other View present in the Manage View page. All the security settings that you have been configured specifically for a view will be applicable only for that particular view.
