Use the New option to create custom security groups with the required permutations and combinations, apart from the existing security groups. A security group can be created only at the repository level.

To create a new security group:

  1. Access the Central Configuration URL (for example, https://worktasks.connect.aveva.com/CC123456789). .

  2. Click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

  3. Click Advanced Settings tab.

  4. Click Manage Security Groups. The Security Groups page appears.

  5. On the action bar, click New. The Create Security Group window appears.

  6. Select the desired option.

    • New Security Group: Select New Security Group to create a security group from scratch. This screen displays the rights with default values. The user can edit them and create a new security group altogether.

    • Copy From Existing Security Group: Select Copy From Existing Security Group to create a security group by coping the rights from an existing security group. The user can customize this group later.

To create a new security group:

  1. Select New Security Group, and then click Continue.

  2. In the Title box, type a name for the security group, and in the Description box, type a description for the security group.

  3. In the Viewing Security Group Rights section, set the rights for the new security group.

  4. Click Save to assign rights to the security group. A message about successfully creating the security group appears.

  5. Click OK to save the security group.

To copy from existing security group:

    1. Select Copy From Existing Security Group.

    2. Select a security group from the drop-down list, and the click Continue. The new security group will have the set of rights and predefined values of the selected security group.

Note: This will inherit the existing security group from the repository level only and not from other levels (e.g. List and List Item level).

    3. In the Title box, type a name for the security group, and in the Description box, type a description for the security group.

    4. In the Viewing Security Group Rights section, modify the Value for the Rights and Follower-specific value for the Rights according to the requirements.

    5. Click Save to assign rights to the security group. A message about successfully creating the security group appears.

    6. Click OK to save the security group.

Note: The LastUpdatedDateTime column in the Security Group list displays the modified date and time of a particular security group, only when it is updated at the Repository level.

To view security mapping, see View Security Group.
