Communication revisions

Communication revisions can only be created for communications in the Rejected or Not Agreed states, and only from the latest revision of a communication.
When a communication revision is created, an exact copy of the original communication is created. The information in a revision can be edited with updated information.
If the communication requires a response, a new obligation is initiated.
The following communication details are NOT copied:

Notes
-
Commercial audit log entries

Communication State Change History
When a revision is created, all revisions of the communication is displayed on the communication register. You can filter the register to show only the latest versions - see View communications.
Warning For expenditure communications which also record progress, any existing links to progress communications will be not automatically copied when the revision is created. However, you will be asked to select progress communications to link to as part of the revision creation process.
Create a communication revision
Communication revisions can only be created for communications in the Rejected or Not Agreed states.
To create a communication revision:

On the communication register, click the Title of the communication you want to view the details for.
The Communication Details page is displayed.

Click the
drop-down arrow on the Details tab and select
Create Revision from the menu.

If the communication records both expenditure and progress, the Associated Progress Communications dialog box is displayed listing all progress communications which can be linked to from this communication, including any linked in the previous revision as well as those which have been agreed or approved since the previous revision was created.
Select the progress communications you want to the communication revision to link to and click Create Revision.

If the communication doesn't record both expenditure and progress, a confirmation message is displayed.
Click OK.

The Details page for the new communication revision is displayed, with the updated Revision Number shown in the Communication Details section.
If the communication requires a response, a new obligation is initiated. See Respond to a communication.
To edit the details of the communication revision, click the
Edit button. See Edit the core details of a communication for more information.
View communication revisions

On the communication register, click the Title of the communication you want to view the revisions for.
The Communication Details page is displayed.

Click the Revisions tab.
A list of the communication's revisions is displayed, latest first.

Click the title of a revision to view its Communication Details page.
Alternatively, on the communication register, click the number in the Rev column of the communication you want to view the revisions for. The Revisions tab for the latest version is displayed.
