Remove communications from process chains

  • Last UpdatedFeb 06, 2024
  • 2 minute read

To remove a communication from a process chain, the financial associations (process chain links) must be broken from the Process Chain section of the Communication Details page. When a process chain link is broken, the mapping template for the communications are reapplied, and any changes to the reporting category which were made as a result of the process chain link are reversed.

The process chain link between progress and expenditure communications cannot be broken.

Warning If the user assigned to the Contract Owner contract role for the communication's contract is disabled, the mapping workflow will not trigger.

Note Breaking a process chain link does not remove the communication from any stories. See Remove communications from stories for further information.

To break a process chain link:

  1. On the communication register, click the Title of the communication to open the Communication Details.

The Process Chain section displays the communications in the process chain to which the communication belongs.

  2. Click the arrow between communications for the process chain link you want to break.

The Link Detail window is displayed.

  3. Click the Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE) button.

The text of the buttons changes to Unlinked and the information displayed for each communication is updated to show any changes to the reporting categories which will occur when the link is broken.

  4. Click Save.

    A confirmation message is displayed.

  5. Click OK to confirm the change.

The Process Chain section of the Communication Details page is updated.
