Progress measures

Certain types of line items require their progress to be measured and recorded, so that the appropriate payment can be claimed and made against them.
Rules of Credit are the pre-established, agreed criteria that determine incremental progress and the amount or percentage of the total commitment that is paid out when the criteria are met. AVEVA Contract Risk Management supports the following types of Rules of Credit, configured for the relevant line items as progress measures.
-
Discrete Weighted Milestone - The percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is tied to specific milestones such as deliverables and approvals.
-
Discrete Pro Rata - The actual physical percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is determined through a calculation.
-
Apportioned - The percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is based on discrete pro rata progress measures. Frequently used for activities such as project management.
The following table describes the progress measures which can be configured for line items in AVEVA Contract Risk Management. Progress measures are specific to the line item they have been created for.

Description

Weighted Milestone
The percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is tied to specific milestones such as deliverables and approvals.
Pro Rata
The actual physical percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is determined through a calculation.

-
The percentage of the contract deliverable that has been completed is based on linked discrete pro rata progress measures. Frequently used for activities such as project management.
The discrete pro rata progress measures can be on the same line item as the apportioned measure, or on different line items. To assist with linking, the discrete pro rata progress measures can be added to progress measure groups which can then be linked to apportioned progress measures. See Manage linked progress measures.
Progress measures have percentage weighting values which are used to calculate the proportion of the line item commitment which can be earned through the progress measures. For example, if the Weighting value for a progress measure is 20%, then if 10% of the progress measure's budget is claimed in a progress communication, that equates to 2% of the line item commitment.
The total weighting of all progress measures associated with a single line item must either equal 0% or 100%. If the total weighting is equal to 0%, then the line item is claimed directly as an expenditure line item and its recorded progress values are for reporting or integration purposes only.
The following table details the progress measures which can be associated with the different types of line items. A line item can have more than one type of supported progress measure.
