Update the state of a contract obligation

Members of the obligation's responsible party and users with the following contract roles can update the state of contract obligations:

  • Contract Owner

  • Contract Administrator

  • Company Representative

    Note If the obligation is part of a series, only the state of the current obligation is updated.

    Note An obligation which was automatically created from a communication will be set to Completed when the required response (agreement and/or a reply) has been made. The obligation can also be manually set to Completed if necessary.

To update the state of the obligation:

  1. On the Obligations tab, click the obligation to open its details pane on the right-hand side of the page.

    Alternatively, click the relevant notification on the navigation bar or task on the My Current Tasks dashboard, or click the link in an email relating to the obligation. The Obligation window is displayed.

  2. Click the fa-pencil icon for the State.

  3. From the drop-down list which is displayed, select the new state of the obligation.

  4. Click fa-check to save the change.

    Note Once an obligation has a state of Completed, it cannot then become Overdue. If it was already marked as Overdue, this flag is removed and the counter displaying the due date is updated to Completed.
