Document templates

Document templates are generally Microsoft Word documents which have AVEVA Contract Risk Management specific custom fields added. (See Document generation with Microsoft Word for more information). These documents are then added to tenders and contracts. When used to create a tender or contract document, the custom fields are populated with information specific to that tender or contract. This means that custom fields need only be added to a single Microsoft Word document for use in a variety of tenders or contracts.
The mail merge function allows users to create several documents containing tender/contract information but also uses the contractor's contact information to create personalized documents. To use this function, Contractor fields must be added to the template document.
Templates are created from .docx documents that are stored in the reference library. For more information about adding documents to the reference library, see Reference documents.
