Import Lists

Import a list to create the list from an XML document.

The XML schema defines the controls and properties of the controls for the list.

To import a list

  1. In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Tools, and then click Manage List. The Manage List page appears.

  2. Right-click on a list, and then click Design List (or click on a list, and then on the action bar, click Design). The List Designer page appears.

  3. On the action bar, click Import. The Import dialog box appears.

  4. Click Browse. The Choose File to Upload dialog box appears.

  5. Select an XML document, and then click Open. The XML document is selected and the Choose File to Upload dialog box is closed.

  6. Click Import. The list is imported and an information message appears.

  7. Click Close. The Import dialog box is closed.

    Note:
    When a list is imported:
    - The table or table schema associated with the list is not imported.
    - The existing controls and properties of the controls for the list are overwritten with the controls and properties of the controls defined in the XML schema.
    - Ensure the repository has the same data provider as the repository from which the list was exported.
