Galaxy Migration Errors After Upgrading to SP2023R2SP1

Issue:

When upgrading a machine with "AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2 (SP2023R2) with AVEVA Work Tasks 2023 SP1" to "AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2 SP1 (SP2023R2SP1) with AVEVA Work Tasks 2023 R2", users may encounter errors and warnings during galaxy migration.

Cause:

The issue arises due to missing or misplaced files required for successful galaxy migration after the upgrade.

Resolution:

Apply the following workaround before migrating galaxies to resolve the issue.

Workaround Steps:

1. After completing the upgrade to SP2023R2SP1 on a machine with AVEVA Work Tasks 2023 R2, but before migrating any galaxies, perform these steps:

   1. Navigate to the folder:

      C:\Program Files (x86)\ArchestrA\Framework\Bin\AuthenticationProvider

   2. Copy the files:

      • Microsoft.Extensions.Logging.Abstractions.dll

      • PCS.Client.DataStore.dll

2. Paste the copied files into the following folder:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\ArchestrA\Framework\Bin

3. Restart the machine.
