Install Certificate at Client Site

  1. Install the exported certificate with private key under Certificates(Local Computer)\Personal\Certificate.

  2. Right click on the installed certificate and select All Tasks>Manage Private Keys option.

  3. Add Read permissions to NETWORK SERVICE and <MachineName>\IIS_IUSERS.

  4. Open the certificate and copy the Thumbprint from the Details tab.

    This thumbnail is used to configure the Web API list item.
