AVEVA™ Work Tasks

AVEVA License Utilization

AVEVA Work Tasks Pro app acquires license from the Enterprise Console (EC) server to which it gets connected. When you log on to the app and get connected to the EC server, the EC server acquires a license for the app. The license gets released only when you log out from the app.

If the app is killed by the system (in case of iOS device system process based on factors listed in the Background Processing in iOS in iOS or in other devices due to system based behaviors) or done manually, while the user is logged-in, then the background process would not get triggered in case of iOS. So, the license would still be consumed and not released. But if you open the app, it will check if the auto-logoff needs to be triggered, then it would perform the same and release the license.

Also note that when performing logoff or auto-logoff is triggered (done by app when it is active or by the iOS background process), if the EC Server is not available, it would not be able to release the license. But if you log in with same or another user in the same device (which you can only when the server connectivity is available), then the license would get updated accordingly, rather than creating a new license.

Similar to auto-logoff, there is a session timeout for AIM and AAD Token Based repositories. The app internally refreshes the session tokens. But in case the EC server connectivity is not available at that moment, then it would show a session timeout message. In such cases, the user would be logged-out, but the license would not be released, as the EC Server connectivity is not available. As in the case of earlier behavior with auto-logoff, if you login with the same or another user in the same device (which you can only when the server connectivity is available), then the license would get updated accordingly, rather than creating a new license.
