BPMN End Event with Terminate

The End Event with Terminate represents the type of event that kills a workflow process. It is denoted by a filled circle superimposed on the End Event symbol, i.e. the circle with thick outline.

Mapping of Visio BPMN Event to the AVEVA Work Tasks Activity

The End Event with the Terminate result attribute is mapped to the Terminate Workflow Activity, which is represented by a red circle similar to the End Activity superimposed with a solid red circle similar to the corresponding BPMN notation.

The following mapping will be used during the conversion:

  • Only the End Events with the Terminate result attribute and no outlinks will be mapped to the Terminate Workflow Activity.

  • Terminate Workflow action takes the Workflow ID as an optional parameter. If no ID is specified the currently executing workflow is terminated.

  • If the Workflow ID is specified the corresponding workflow is killed immediately.

Validation

Outlinks (links originating from the activity) are not allowed from the Terminate Workflow Activity.
