Migrate Passphrase using Migration Tool

You can migrate the passphrase and the configuration settings from one machine to another using Passphrase Migration Tool. Using the tool, you can migrate the following:

• Farm Database

• Datasources

• Central Configuration

To migrate passphrase using Passphrase Migration tool,

1. Navigate to [AVEVA Work Tasks Installed Path]\AVEVA\Work Tasks\Bin\Tool and run AVEVAWorkTasksPassphraseMigrationWizard.exe to migrate the existing configuration settings.

2. On the Passphrase Migration Wizard, do the following:

   1. In the Existing Passphrase box, enter the exiting passphrase configured earlier in a machine.

   2. In the New Passphrase box, enter the new passphrase for migrating existing configurations to a different machine.

      Note: The passphrase should have characters between 8 and 20, consisting of lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and special characters. Use the same passphrase for all servers in Enterprise Edition of AVEVA Work Tasks.

3. Click Migrate.

   The wizard shows the status of the configurations getting migrated. Also, if you check the database tables, you will see that the database columns has the new encrypted values.

   Note: Do not run this tool for migrating the settings when,
   - AVEVA Work Tasks is provisioned with external connectors (for example, AVEVA System Platform), as external connectors are not supported.
   - DataSource is created using Connection provider as the DataSource will not get migrated.
