Microsoft Outlook Integration

AVEVA Work Tasks supports two-way communication via e-mail. It provides a Delivery Channel for users to interact with workflows. Also provides multiple delivery channels which include:

Browsers: AVEVA Work Tasks provides controls that can be embedded in Web-based applications to view or respond to the work items.

Messenger Services: AVEVA Work Tasks uses this channel to send tasks or information to messenger applications.

Mobile Phones: AVEVA Work Tasks allows both SMS and e-mail communication. You can send and receive message s using AVEVA Work Tasks. The two-way e-mail channel within AVEVA Work Tasks is used to deliver and act on tasks directly using mobile phones.

E-mail: AVEVA Work Tasks also supports two-way e-mail communication. A Workitem can be delivered to both e-mail and Web channel based on a user's preference. The user can act on the Workitem from either of the channels. AVEVA Work Tasks synchronizes this information.

Microsoft Outlook applications: AVEVA Work Tasks provides a Microsoft Outlook plug-in to respond to tasks. It enables work item to be delivered to the Inbox of your mail client, such as Microsoft Office Outlook 2016 and Microsoft Outlook 2019.

Desktop Applications: AVEVA Work Tasks provides extensive APIs and Web services that can be called from various desktop applications to work with Workitem.

You can act on a workflow task from any mail client. AVEVA Work Tasks Outlook Integration is required for providing any advanced options through Microsoft Outlook.

The AVEVA Work Tasks Outlook Integration utility is a plug-in for AVEVA Work Tasks. It enables work item to be delivered to the Inbox of your mail client, such as Microsoft Office Outlook 2016 and Microsoft Outlook 2019. This is an alternative option provided to reply to e-mails related to your activity. This integration thus allows you to respond to work item from within Microsoft Outlook. The Outlook follow up functionality helps you to mark a mail as follow up. This functionality is used to set reminders and perform tasks at the scheduled time.

AVEVA Work Tasks Outlook integration utility automatically detects the installed Microsoft Office version and accordingly adds the plug-in. The tasks appear on the Outlook Ribbon bar. The plug-in menu options include:

  • Approval

  • CheckList

  • Choice

  • Task
