Swapping Repository Provider

You can swap the primary provider records to the secondary provider in SkVirtualActor table when the primary provider is not accessible or damaged.

Swapping is possible only if the repository you are accessing has multiple providers configured.

Note: Before you swap the provider, take the backup of SkVirtualActor table.

Issue

The repository provider you are accessing is damaged and not accessible.

Solution

Swap the damaged repository provider with the other provider available for that repository.

To swap the repository provider

1. Access Central Configuration site and navigate to Repository Provider List. For more information, see Repository Provider List.

2. Right-click the repository provider that is damaged and select the option Swap Provider.

   Note: The Swap Provider option is available only if the repository has more than one provider instances.

   The values get swapped from the primary provider to the secondary provider. The secondary provider is the one which is at the top of the provider list.
