AttributeReadWrite Activity

Use the AttributeReadWrite activity to perform the read and write operation between AVEVA Work Tasks and System Platform IDE.

Activity Properties:

You can configure the AttributeReadWrite activity by specifying appropriate values for the properties in the Activity Properties area. Click Activity Properties in the toolbar or select the Properties option from the short-cut menu of the AttributeReadWrite to access the Activity Properties.

Name & Description

You can use these properties to specify the name and description for the activity.

  • Name: Use this property to specify a name for the activity.

    Property Type: Mandatory

  • Description: Use this property to add a brief description about the activity.

    Property Type: Optional. Set this property only if required.

Configuration

You can use these properties to configure the functionality of this activity.

  • Unique Environment Name: Identifies the Galaxy and Runtime node on which the galaxy is deployed to perform the read or write operation on the System Platform attribute.

  • Relative Reference Object: Relative references are especially useful in templates while passing context parameters to workflows.

    • You can manually enter the value for this property. This value will be considered for further execution of the current activity.

      Or

    • If the property does not have a value, then the value defined for this property in the "ArchestrAXMLData" XML variable is used during the execution of the AttributeRead/Write activity. The "ArchestrAXMLData" XML variable is automatically created when you associate a workflow with an ArchestrA event.

  • Retry Count: Use this property to enter the number of retries, in case of a communication error. If the error is due to invalid data, it will not be retried.

    Property Type: Optional. Set this property only if required.

  • Retry Wait Time: Use this property to enter retry wait time in seconds, in case of an error.

    Property Type: Optional. Set this property only if required.

  • Attribute Operation: Define the attribute operation type. The attribute operation type defines whether the action should be read or write.

  • Select Attribute: Select the attribute type for the Attribution Operation.

Looping Behavior

You can use this property to specify the looping behavior of the activity.

Loop through this action if output is: This property is used to specify the condition for looping the activity by selecting an activity output from the drop down.

Exception Behavior

Each activity has the Raise Error on Unhandled Linked Output property. Click this property to see the default configured mapped error outputs in red with their check boxes selected.
