Upgrade in Enterprise Server Environment

Before starting the upgrade of Enterprise Server Environment, stop the AVEVA Work Tasks services on all the machines where Enterprise Server is configured.

• Upgrade on Server Machine

• Upgrade on Client Machine

Upgrade on Server Machine

In an Enterprise Server computer, the AVEVAWorkTasksUpgradeManager upgrades the following AVEVA Work Tasks components:

• Databases schema

• Repository properties

• List definitions

• Sites

• Services

Upgrade on Client Machine

In the Client computer, the AVEVAWorkTasksUpgradeManager upgrades the AVEVA Work Tasks Sites of AVEVA Work Tasks.

Note: In the Enterprise Server Environment, if a client computer upgrade is done, then the Advance Server service is manually installed on the client computer.


Use installutil command from Visual Studio command prompt to install the Advance Server service on the client computer.

For example, installutil –i “C:\Program files\AVEVA\Work Tasks\\Bin\AdvServr.NET2.exe”.
