Add Custom Controls in the Controls Category

Add a custom control in the Controls category of the Forms Designer toolbox to make it easily available in the toolbox.

To add a custom control in the Controls category of the Forms Designer toolbox

  1. In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Tools, and then click Form Controls. The Form Controls page appears.

  2. On the action bar, click New, and then click Form Control. The New Form Control wizard appears.

  3. In the Name of the control box, type a name for the control, and in the Description box, type a description for the control.

  4. Click Save & Continue. The control is created, and the Form Custom Control wizard appears.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • Select the custom control assembly created in the global assembly cache (GAC).

    1. Click GAC. A list of assembly files appear.

    2. Click the assembly file for the custom control, and then click Save. The custom control is added to the Controls category of the Forms Designer toolbox.

      • Select the custom control assembly created in the dedicated folder.

      1. Click Folder. A list of assembly files appear.

      2. Click the assembly file for the custom control, and then click Save. The custom control is added to the Controls category of the Forms Designer toolbox.

      Note: Custom control added to the Controls category is displayed after the last control in the Controls category.
