Access AVEVA Work Tasks Pro

The AVEVA Work Tasks Pro application can be accessed outside the corporate network through Windows Azure. The mobile application communicates with the AVEVA Work Tasks server which is within the firewall through Windows Azure. It is recommended to access the application through Windows Azure, as it provides high level of security as the application runs behind the firewall. Also, this setup does not require additional network settings to access the application on the go.

The speed at which the tasks are downloaded and can be acted upon, depends on the internet connectivity. Hence, is it recommended to have a good internet connectivity.

Following are the methods of accessing AVEVA Work Tasks Pro:

• Accessing AVEVA Work Tasks Pro within the Corporate Network (by making AVEVA Work Tasks host IP address static)

• Accessing AVEVA Work Tasks Pro Outside the Corporate Network

To access AVEVA Work Tasks Pro through Azure, you will need to configure the Service Bus Listener. A Service Bus Listener is required to listen to the communication requests from the mobile devices to the Enterprise Console. After you configure a service bus listener, a Service Bus Listener URL is generated. This URL is to be provided to the mobile user to access the application in mobile devices.

Important: The Service Bus Listener URL must be unique for every Farm. If you are using the same URL for multiple Farms, ensure that the combination of the Listener Namespace and Service Bus Namespace is unique. For example, if the Service Bus Listener URL for a farm is http://Telematics.servicebus.windows.net//MobileEC, the combination of Listener Namespace (MobileEC) and Service Bus Namespace (Telematics) should not be used for any other farm configuration.

To configure the Service Bus Listener:

1. Use an existing Service Bus Namespace, if available or create a new Service Bus Namespace through Windows Azure Management Portal

2. Configure Service Bus Listener through the Farm Configuration Wizard (see Configure Service Bus Listener )

Note: You cannot configure AVEVA Work Tasks Pro to connect to the repositories configured with service bus and token services.
