Replace List Item Owners

The Owner option in the Lists Artifacts helps you replace an user who owns list items. By default the user selected in the Alternate User field will be populated for this field. However, you can override this and select another user as an Alternate User.

To Replace Owner of List items

  1. In the List drop down, select one or more lists.

    This drop down will list only those lists which have list items wherein the User to be Replaced (Rick) is a owner.

  2. To select all the lists which are displayed in the drop down check the option Select All Lists .

  3. The Alternate User for Owner Artifacts is populated by default (for more information on how this information is populated click here), if you want to override it click on the User Lookup icon to search and select the required user.

  4. Select the option Ignore Lock, if you want to change the owner for the list item which is locked. Here the lock applied on the list item will not be considered and the owner information will be updated even though the list item is locked.

    If the option Ignore Lock was not selected, then on replacing the owner a message error occurred while replacing user, check logger for more details will be displayed and the Owner for the locked list items will not be changed.

  5. Click Replace, a message 'Are you sure you want to Replace is displayed', click OK to replace the User to be Replaced (Rick) with Kevin.

    This will replace the owner of the list items where Rick is the owner, with the Alternate User Kevin for all the selected lists.

    Note: If the User to be Replaced is not an owner for any of the list items, then the Owner Artifact will be updated as User is not part of this Artifact
