About Forms

The Forms enable Actors to act on Work Items using one of the supported Channel Types. Forms can announce their support for multiple Channel Types. They are used to render the user interface for all the supported Channel Types, in which the Actor can act on the Work Item assigned to them.

The standard user interface – AVEVA Work Tasks Web Work Item List Form – for displaying Work Items supports the Web Channel Type. Other forms can be developed using the IFormProvider interface for different Channel Types.

Some of the forms that can be defined are custom ASPX forms that can be used to capture additional user inputs that the standard user interface cannot capture. These forms will correspond to the default Work Tasks Web Worklist Channel. Some of the forms that are possible for the AVEVA Work Tasks Mail Channel, which is the other default Channel, are HTML Forms, Plain Text Form, and Outlook Form.
