Before installing AVEVA Work Tasks, the installer installs the following system-specific prerequisites:
-
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
-
Enables IIS Feature
-
Microsoft .NET 8.0.7 - Windows Server Hosting
-
VS C++ Redistributable2022
-
Common Licensing API Framework
-
Platform Common Services 8.0.2
AVEVA Work Tasks utilizes a server-based licensing subsystem that provides centralized license management. Licenses must be activated before use.
-
License Manager and License Server should be installed separately from the License Manager and License Server folders respectively. These folders are available in the AVEVA Enterprise Licensing folder in the ISO file.
-
The Configuration utility, which will be prompted after the 'AVEVA Enterprise Licensing API Framework' is installed, can be used for connecting to the AVEVA License Server. For more information, see AVEVA Enterprise License documentation.
Note:
- Copy the Installation EXE and ISSetupPrerequisites folder to the machine where you want to install AVEVA Work Tasks 2023 R3 and then start the installation.
- If you encounter an error saying that the file <filename> cannot be loaded due to
the error , you need to unblock all files in the installer folder.
To unblock the files, execute the following command in PowerShell:
dir "<InstallerFolderPath>" -Recurse | Unblock-File
- If any of the above mentioned system-specific prerequisites are already installed,
the installer skips installing that particular prerequisite component and proceeds
with other prerequisites.
- If the user cancels the prerequisite installation after completing the Microsoft .Net 8.0.7 - Windows Server Hosting installation and then reruns the installation, Microsoft .Net 8.0.7 - Windows Server Hosting will still appear in the list but will be skipped, allowing the installation process
to continue.
If the user completes the Work Tasks installation entirely and then reruns the installation,
none of the prerequisites will be shown.
- If you install AVEVA Work Tasks on a system where prerequisite Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is not already installed,
then the system will restart automatically after the installation of this prerequisite.
To avoid system restart, install each of these prerequisites separately using the
respective installers from the ISSetupPrerequisites folder.
- AVEVA Work Tasks needs Microsoft .Net 8.0.7 - Windows Server Hosting or a newer version to be installed on the machine. Although the Work Tasks installer
tries to install it as a prerequisite, if the .NET Core installation encounters any
issues, the installation process will continue. However, it will be incumbent upon
the customer to manually install .NET Core in such instances.
- If you are planning to install any application on the same machine that installs
earlier version of the above prerequisites, then ensure to install that application
before installing AVEVA Work Tasks.
- While installing AVEVA Work Tasks, if you opt to restart the machine after Platform Common Service or Common Licensing API Framework prerequisite installation,
-- Installation does not resume after a restart. Run the installer to continue the
installation.
-- Common Licensing API Framework prerequisite installation might get skipped if
you restart the machine after Platform Common Service prerequisite installation.
It is recommended not to restart the machine while installing Platform Common Service
or Common Licensing API Framework prerequisites.
- PCS 8.0.2 is dependent on the following components in case PCS is getting installed.
Regardless of which method you choose for integration, you need to ensure that the
following components are installed before attempting to install the PCS Framework.
-- .NET Framework 4.8 Full or later
-- Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable (x86 and x64). Use Universal C Runtime.
-- windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.x-win-x64.exe (https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0)
-- aspnetcore-runtime-6.0.x-win-x64.exe (https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0)
