Replace User

Replace User accessed from Enterprise Console > Tools > User Tools menu, enables you to replace an user (who is no longer associated with an organization or process) with an alternate user in different artifacts (Lists, Queue) of a repository.

To replace user

  1. Log on to Enterprise Console and go to Tools > User Tools > Replace User. The Replace User page appears. You can select an User to be Replaced and Alternate User for different artifacts of a repository.

  2. In the Select the User to be Replaced field, click the User Lookup icon. The User Lookup dialog box appears.

  3. Search and select the user to be replaced, and then click Update.

    Enter the Real Actor Id of the user as specified in the examples below:

    • For Active Directory: activedirectory::john22

    • For the List Provider: skeltalist:: C99B4110-C8CC-410B-BF70-93F3A7E34EDF

    • For SQL Provider: sqlprovider::6fb03011-68b7-437e-972e-21c67e4e2fe7

    • For ASP.NET membership: membershipprovider::a9bfc969-cc82-4c4b-99b9-50d9e1a91c01

  4. In Select the Alternate User field, click User Lookup. The User Lookup dialog box appears.

  5. Search and select for an user who will be used as an alternate user, and then click Update. The selected user will be updated in the Select the Alternate User field. The user John22 will be updated as an Alternate User for John in all the artifacts of the repository.

    Note: In the Select the Alternate User field, you cannot enter the Real Actor Id, the Alternate User has to be selected through the User lookup.

  6. Click Populate. The Replace User dialog will be refreshed and the section Artifacts will be displayed. By default the John will be populated as an Alternate User for each of the artifacts.

    Note: You can override the Alternate User which is populated for each of the artifacts.
