To create a new report connection item

On the action bar, click New. The New Report Connection wizard appears.
New Report Connections - Properties:

Title: Title for a new Report Connection. The text entered in this text box cannot be edited as this is a unique text box.
Note: Title cannot contain special characters such as # ~ & + \ " ' < > | @ ! $ % * ( ) = / { } ?

Description: Description of the new Report Connection.

URI: Report Server URI. For example, http://
The Unique Resource Identifier (URI) is the URL of the web service to which the user needs to connect to execute a report.

Anonymous Access: Check this option if the URI specified above is configured to be accessed anonymously. The test connection succeeds only if the URI is accessible anonymously. The user need not specify the user credentials if this option is checked.
Note: The Anonymous Access option would not work for SSRS 2008, as it is not supported out of the box.

User Name: User name to access the above URI. If the Anonymous Access option is not checked, then enter the user name in this text box to access the above mentioned URI.

Password: Password for User Name.

Domain: Name of the domain in which the above mentioned user exists.

Default Path: Enter the default report template path. This information is required to locate a specific group of report templates that have been deployed in the reporting server. For example, the templates are stored in this location - /ArchestrA Reports/Historian

Save: Save option is for saving the entries made.

Test Connection: To test whether the report connection is valid or not.

Click Test Connection. If you have not provided valid URI and connections, then the test connection fails. If the connection is successful, then test connection successful message appears.

Click Save to store the details. By clicking the Save option, the connection will be tested with all the given information and then will save it. The new connection appears in the Report Connections list window.
