BAM Reports from an Archived Database

Description: For regulatory requirement, user needs BAM reports from an archived database.

Solution:

1. Create a backup of the repository database from the source machine.

   Example: Consider Database Name as “TelematicsDB”, Backup Filename as “TelematicsDBBackup.bak”, and Repository name as “TelematicsRepo”.

2. Restore the backed up database in the destination machine.

   Example: After restoring “TelematicsDBBackup.bak” in the destination machine, “TelematicsDB” database will be created.

3. Create a new DataSource in the destination machine and use the same database created in Step 2.

   Example: Create a DataSource with name “ArchiveDataSource” with the “TelematicsDB” database.

4. Create a new repository and select the DataSource created in Step 3.

5. Choose the Attach DataSource option.

   This lists all the repositories in selected datasource.

6. Select the repository which needs to be copied and proceed with creating a repository.

   Example: Select “TelematicsRepo”.

   This will copy the repository details of the source to the destination machine.
