BPMN Intermediate Event with Cancel

The Intermediate Event with Cancel represents the type of event that interrupts the process flow when a transaction is canceled. It is denoted by an 'X' superimposed on the Intermediate Event symbol, that is the circle with the double outline.

Mapping of Visio BPMN Event to the AVEVA Work Tasks Activity

The Intermediate Event with the Cancel trigger is mapped to the On Transaction Canceled Activity, which is represented by the standard notation for Intermediate Events, that is a circle with a double outline filled with orange, with an 'X' superimposed on it.

The following mapping will be used during the conversion:

  • Intermediate Event with Cancel trigger will be mapped to the On Transaction Canceled Activity.

  • If the Target attribute is specified then the activity should not be mapped to the On Transaction Canceled activity; instead, it should be converted to a Link with On Transaction Canceled as the Trigger for the event.

Validation

  • On Transaction Canceled action may be allowed to have no inlinks; in such a case it will be immediately executed after the Start Activity before the Start Activity proceeds to the next logical link.

  • On Transaction Canceled must be placed in a process that is marked as transactionable.

  • On Transaction Canceled, if used as an event trigger, must be attached to a task or activity that is marked as transactionable.
