Cryptography Settings

You can export and import the cryptography settings of one server to the other servers. For Load Balanced Server of Work Tasks, import the cryptographic settings with the same passphrase in all the servers. Using the same passphrase will help the easier recovery of the servers.

The following are the application pools and services that access AVEVA Work Tasks:

Applications Pools

  • AVEVA Work Tasks Integrated

  • Quickflow

Services

  • NetworkService

  • Current

  • System

If you use any other application pool or service to access Work Tasks, you need to add them to one of the following groups:

  • Administrators

  • aaAdministrators

  • aaConfigTools

To Export/Import Cryptography Settings

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to AVEVA, and then click Farm Configuration Wizard.

    The Welcome to the AVEVA Work Tasks Configuration Wizard screen appears.

  2. Click Next.

    The Edit AVEVA Work Tasks Farm Settings window is displayed.

  3. Select Cryptography Settings and click Next.

  4. On the Cryptography Settings page, do the following:

    1. Enter the passphrase for the settings.

      Note: The passphrase should have characters between 8 and 20, consisting of lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and special characters. Use the same passphrase for all servers in Load Balanced Server of AVEVA Work Tasks.

    2. Click Import to import the cryptography settings file in the server.

    3. Click Export to export the settings. Keep the file safe.

  5. Click Finish.

    The cryptography settings get imported to or exported from the server based on the action performed.

To Configure Cryptography Settings using Cryptography Configurator Tool

  1. Navigate to [AVEVA Work Tasks Installed Path]\AVEVA\Work Tasks\Bin and run CryptographyConfigurator.exe to configure the cryptography settings.

  2. On the Cryptography Settings page, do the following:

    1. Enter the passphrase for the settings.

      Note: The passphrase should have characters between 8 and 20, consisting of lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and special characters. Use the same passphrase for all servers in Load Balanced Server of AVEVA Work Tasks.

    2. Click Remove to clear the cryptography settings from the logged-in server.

    3. Click Import to import the cryptography settings file in the server.

    4. Click Export to export the cryptography settings. Keep the file safe.

  3. Click Finish.

    The cryptography settings gets removed, imported to, or exported from the server based on the action performed.
