User List

The User list stores user details forAVEVA Work Tasks List provider, which can be customized to add new fields and edit existing fields. Customization can be done to the User List and the Form associated to the list present within the system folders of Manage List and Manage Forms respectively.

  • The User list is present in the System folder of Manage List and contains customizable pre-defined lists.

  • The form associated to the User List is present in Manage Forms > Dynamic List Form > System folder and contains customizable pre-defined forms.

Scenario

A workflow using Active Directory as user source needs additional user information for decision making. It may not always be possible to modify the user source to capture additional metadata. Customized User List provides an easy way to store additional information about a user and map the same to Active Directory.

Customizing User List

If the user wants to add any new fields in the User List, the user can go to manage List and edit the user List, add new controls, and regenerate the Form.

If a User wants to see Age filed in the Enterprise Console Settings Users List:

  1. Add new column Age in SKEUsers Table in repository database.

  2. Navigate to Manage List > System folder, select Users list and click Design from the ribbon bar.

  3. The List Designer dialog is displayed

  4. Drag and drop the Decimal Input control to the orange section in the Design Area

  5. The Control Property dialog is displayed.

  6. In the Tag Name field enter Age and in the Description field enter the Age of the User.

  7. In the Bound to DBColumn type in Age.

    This field will be bound to the column created in database, hence the value entered in this field should be same as the name given to the column in SKEUserTable.

  8. Click Save. The Age field will now appear in the List Designer.

  9. Click Submit to submit the list and regenerate the Form.

  10. Access Users from Enterprise Console Settings and create a new user.

  11. The new field Age will be present in the User dialog.

In Manage List if user is adding any new control and if the form is regenerated the password field property will get changed. You have to follow the steps below to reset the properties for the password field:

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Console > Forms.

  2. Double click on the Dynamic List Forms folder and access the System folder.

  3. Select the SKAWS_Users list, click Design in the ribbon bar.

  4. Edit the Password field, and make the following changes.

    • In the Basic tab, set Mode of text as Password.

    • In the Appearance tab set:

      • Persist password on postback as True

      • Encryption mode as AVEVA Work Tasks List type.
