Control Adding a New Calendar

The following example demonstrates how to secure adding a new calendar by using Calendar Control rights for a contributor user.
To control the access to add a new calendar for a contributor user

Log on as the Administrator user.

Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page appears.

Right-click the Contributor security group, and then click Edit. The Modify a Security Group page appears.

In the Calendar Control Rights section, uncheck the Can Add Calendar right to restrict the contributor from adding a calendar.

Click Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

Click Yes if you want to synchronize the changes to the below levels, or else click Submit.

Click OK in the confirmation window.

To verify if the a user who belongs to the Contributor security group cannot add a new calendar, log on as a user who belongs to the Contributor security group.

Open Calendar page. The contributor user cannot view the Add New Calendar icon in the Calendar Control page.
