Use the Add Folder option to specify a particular folder which has to be watched by "FileWatcher" for various events.
To add a folder
-
Create a folder in any local drive.
For example, create a folder called FileWatcher in C:\ drive.
The folder name should not contain the following special characters:
[#~&+\""'<>|@{}(),;^=!$]
However, a folder name can contain a space or an underscore. -
In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, click Settings, and then click File Watcher. The FileWatcher List page appears.
-
On the action bar, click New. The Add Folder wizard appears.
-
In the Title box, type a unique title for the folder to be watched. For example, enter the title as 'HR'.
Note:
- Ensure that the title is unique for a repository.
- Ensure that the title does not contain the following special characters:
[#~&+\""'<>|@{}(),;^=!$]
However, a title can contain a space or an underscore. -
In the Physical Path box, specify the path to store the folder. For example, type C:\FileWatcher.
Note:
- If the physical path is a Network path, then enter the path in the following format: \\servername\<shared folder name>.
- Ensure that the value specified for Physical Path is unique for a data source. If multiple repositories use a single data source, then the same physical path can be used in only one repository.
- Consider the following scenario where:
- Multiple data sources point to a single File Watcher folder path.
- The same path is associated with multiple workflows of different repositories for File Watcher events.
In this scenario, the File Watcher events will be captured only for one repository, among the multiple data sources available. -
In the Buffer Size box, specify the buffer size. By default, the buffer size is 16000.
-
In Notify Filter field, choose either the Maximum or Minimum option. By default, Maximum is chosen.
-
Choose either Yes or No for the Created option. By default, the Yes option is chosen to consume the Created event.
-
Choose either Yes or No for the Changed option. By default, the Yes option is chosen to consume the Changed event.
-
Choose either Yes or No for the Deleted option. By default, the Yes option is chosen to consume the Deleted event.
-
Choose either Yes or No for the Renamed option. By default, the Yes option is chosen to consume the Renamed event.
-
Click Save to update the changes. A message about successfully saving the new folder appears.
-
Click OK to save the new folder.
