Before you upgrade to the latest version of AVEVA Work Tasks, perform the following:

  • Set up the computer to meet the requirements to run the installer of AVEVA Work Tasks.

If there are any custom activities defined, you need to add these file details manually after the upgrade is complete.

  • Create backup copies of all your existing databases, as the Database schema and content are changed during the upgrade process. Most databases provide a backup wizard or other user assistance for creating database backups. Contact your database administrator for more information.

  • Upgrade all custom assemblies, such as custom activities, SOA assembles, custom event handler, custom resource provider, or any custom components to support .Net Framework 4.8 and to refer to the latest version of AVEVA Work Tasks assembly references.

  • Ensure to use Connectors and Extensions, which are compatible with the latest version of AVEVA Work Tasks.

  • Restart IIS.

      • To upgrade in a client computer, ensure to stop the Client service.

      • To upgrade in a client machine which is connected to an Enterprise Server, ensure to stop both the Advance Server service and Client service.

    • To stop IIS, run Command Prompt as an Administrator, type iisreset /stop, and then press Enter.

    • Delete the WorkTasksTemp folder from C:\Windows\Temp.

    • Delete the AVEVA Work Tasks Cache files and folders from C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.XXXXX\Temporary ASP.NET Files\.
