Define Services and Global Settings

You can define the Services and Global Settings using the Farm Configuration Wizard or through Configuration XMLs.
To define services

In the Services/Global Settings page, the Use default settings for services option is selected by default.
Note: You can also customize the settings for these services and websites using the Custom Settings option. For more information about Service-related changes and Website-related changes, see Advanced Settings and Administering Web Servers respectively.

Click Next.
The Global Settings dialog box appears.

In the Communication tab, enter key fields in Email Settings and Exception Email settings to configure exception e-mails.
The following are the details:

Host: Enter information related to mail server.
Example: Enter details related to Microsoft Exchange Server (IP address of the exchange server). -
Port: Enter the port number for the mail server. The default port number is 25.

From email: Enter the from e-mail address.
Example: admin@telematics.com -
To email: Enter the to e-mail address.
Example: alex@telematics.com

Click OK.
Note: To confirm the exception e-mail settings, click Test SMTP. An e-mail will be generated and sent to the To email address confirming successful configuration of the e-mail. The advanced settings like Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Email Timeout, User Name, and Password for the e-mail account holder, Password Encrypted flag will differ based on the mail server settings.
