AVEVA Work Tasks Web Server Farm, Work Tasks Server, and AVEVA Work Tasks Database Server on Different Machines

In this scenario, the installation includes a AVEVA Work Tasks Web Server Farm besides AVEVA Work Tasks Server and Database. All these components are installed on different machines and the Web Farm on multiple Web servers.

A Web Server Farm is a group of two or more Web Servers. All the Web Servers in the Web Farm will have the Central Configuration and the Enterprise Console installed. AVEVA Work Tasks Services and the Database are installed on two different machines.

For License related information, see AVEVA Enterprise Licensing.

This scenario is recommended when you require a quick response from Web Servers under heavy load situations.

System Landscape

Advantages

  • Response time is low and application throughput is high as processing requests received by a Web Farm are directed to different hosts in the Web Farm

  • It is possible to secure AVEVA Work Tasks Databases behind a firewall

  • Better performance is obtained from the database-intensive AVEVA Work Tasks Solution by hosting the database on a different machine

  • High CPU utilization due to load on Web applications does not affect the performance of the workflow engine

Disadvantages

  • Load Balancing is not possible

  • Scale-Out of AVEVA Work Tasks Engine service is not possible
