BPMN Intermediate Event with Message
The Intermediate Event with Message represents the type of event that interrupts a process flow when a notification/message is received. It is denoted by the envelope symbol superimposed on the Intermediate Event symbol, that is. the circle with the double outline.
Mapping of Visio BPMN Event to the AVEVA Work Tasks Activity
The Intermediate Event with the Message trigger is mapped to the Wait for Event Activity, which is represented by the standard notation for Intermediate Events, that is a circle with a double outline filled with orange, with the envelope symbol superimposed on it.
The following mapping will be used during the conversion:
-
Intermediate Event with Message trigger will be mapped to the Wait for Event Activity.
-
If the Target attribute is specified then the activity should not be mapped to the Wait for Event activity; instead, it should be converted to a Link with Wait for Event as the Trigger for the event.
Validation
Wait for Event activity may be allowed to have no inlinks; in such a case it will be immediately executed after the Start Activity before the Start Activity proceeds to the next logical link.
