Register to Mobile Notification Service

The Mobile Notification Service Settings registration enables the system to send notifications to mobile devices.

Use the Registration Details section to register for sending notification to mobile devices. You can register n number of mobile devices to receive notifications.

Registration can be done anytime, either during Farm configuration at install time, or later. On clicking the Register button, the system gets enabled to send notifications. Also, all the available devices in the system get registered in the Azure notification hub.

Note:
- It is recommended that the system acquires the license with the highest precedence available, before registering for Push Notification.
- In an Enterprise Server environment, if you register for Push Notification in one of the systems in the cluster, then the registration is completed on all the other systems in the cluster.
- The Load Balanced Server and Single Server licenses will point to Production Push Registration service.
- Restart the services when prompted by the Farm Configuration Wizard.

To register to Mobile Notification service

  1. Run the Farm Configuration Wizard, and click Next.

  2. In the Edit Farm Settings window, select Service Settings.

  3. Click Next.

    The Services/Global Settings window appears.

  4. Click the edit button near the Mobile Notification Service.

    The Mobile Notification Service Settings window appears.

  5. Click the Register tab.

  6. Click Test Connection to verify the connection.

  7. Click Register.

    Note: The registration process might take a significant amount of time based on the Internet connectivity and the number of devices available in the system.

    A message about successful registration appears.

  8. Click OK.

  9. To send a test notification, perform the following in the Test Notification section.

    1. Select a device from the Device drop-down list.

    2. Enter a value in the Badge Count field. This number will be sent to the selected device as a test notification.

    3. Click Send.

      If a notification is successfully sent to the mobile device, a message about successfully sending notification appears.

  10. Click OK.

    The system is successfully registered for sending notifications to mobile devices.

    Note: After registering the notification service, if you close the Farm Configuration Wizard and reopen it to send a Notification Badge Test Count, it results in an error. Hence, send the Notification Badge Test Count in the same session.

To regenerate the keys to register to Mobile Notification Service again

You can regenerate the notification hub key if the key is compromised in any circumstances.

Note:
- Ensure that you regenerate this key only if it is compromised and is used for malicious purposes.
- When you click the Regenerate button, you will have to wait for a minute for the notification/test notification to work.
- Regenerating the key after registering the notification service results in an error when attempting to send a Notification Badge Test Count.

  1. In the Register tab, click Regenerate.

    A confirmation message to regenerate the notification hub key appears.

  2. Click Yes.

    A message about successful regeneration of the notification hub key appears.

    You must restart the AVEVA Work Tasks services for the changes to take effect.

    To unregister from the Mobile Notification Service

    To unregister from the Mobile Notification Service, perform the following:

    1. In the Register tab, click Unregister.

      A message appears asking your confirmation to unregister the devices.

    2. Click Yes.

      A message about successful unregistration appears and all the registered devices in the notification hub gets unregistered.
