ArchestrA Events

You can create ArchestrA applications that generate alarms and events to provide the status of a running application. ArchestrA Events is such an application of AVEVA Work Tasks which you can use to consume events from the event providers of the ArchestrA Event Services platform. The ArchestrA Event Services platform uses the ArchestrA Service Bus (ASB) for sending and receiving data. When an event occurs, a notification is reported to the event distributor. Then based on the filtering conditions, the required the workflow is triggered.

Alarms warn about process conditions that can potentially cause problems. Typically, you set up an alarm to become active when a process value exceeds a defined limit. For example, you can set an alarm for a pump that warns when no fluid pressure is detected.

Events represent normal system, application, or user occurrences that produce status messages. A typical event occurs when an operator logs on to an application at the beginning of a work shift. Application Server can detect events, store them as historical data, and report them to client applications.

ArchestrA objects include built-in event and alarming reporting capabilities. You must configure alarms for each object in the IDE to use the event and alarm functions.

Application Server creates several types of run-time event messages, which are saved as historical data.

  • System events

  • Security-audit (operator change) events

  • Application (or process) related events

For more information about these ArchestrA events, see AVEVA Application Server User Guide.
