Service Monitoring
You can monitor the AVEVA Work Tasks Windows services such as, the Client Monitor, Advance Server, Task Scheduler (TS), Workflow Engine (WF Engine), and Communication Service (CS).
AVEVA Work Tasks architecture uses a plug-in model wherein, any Custom activity, COM-object, or SOA activity can be plugged in as part of the workflow. Sometimes, these activities show a high memory usage. Due to the increased memory usage, the WF Engine service at times gives “OutOfMemoryException” and cannot continue processing the workflow tasks which are in the queue. This in turn delays the execution of the workflows which are in the queue. In addition, the administrator might not know about this until they are alerted by the users about the delays in execution of work flows. To resolve this problem, the administrator will have to restart the Workflow Engine service.
The Service monitoring feature automates this restart process to avoid workflows pending in queues and the administrator's interference in the restart process.
