AVEVA Work Tasks Reports are hosted using the SQL Server Reporting Services. These reports are generated using the templates deployed in the reporting server. The reporting server contains several report templates from which the user selects an appropriate template and generates the required reports. The Report Generator activity provides an execution facility for those reports and enables the user to send the report as an Email attachment, a link, or as an embedded report using the viewer control in AVEVA Work Tasks Form.

The AVEVA Work Tasks, by default, does not have ArchestrA reporting server information. Hence, AVEVA Work Tasks workflow requires the ArchestrA reporting service information, to execute the ArchestrA report from the workflow.

To send the reports through AVEVA Work Tasks, use the Report Generator activity and the following AVEVA Work Tasks lists:

  • Report Generator Activity: Use this activity to configure a Report Template and also to save the generated report in the Reports list. For more information, see Report Generator Activity in the Developer Guide.

  • Connections: This list contains the report server information, report execution credentials, and the default path. Use this information to connect to the SSRS web service to fetch the report template information in order to execute the report. For more information, see Configuring Report Connection.

  • Templates: This list contains report templates that runs at run time using the report server information mentioned above. For more information, see Configuring Report Templates.

  • Reports: This list contains reports which are generated using the Report Generator activity. You can manually import the previously created reports. For more information, see Configuring Reports.

Note: An error message ASP.NET session has expired or could not be found is displayed by SQL Server Reporting services when a Form has Report Viewer control and is open for a long time.
For Report Server, the default session timeout is 600 seconds (10 minutes). You can increase this timeout to any value and based on these settings, session timeout will occur.
