AVEVA™ Work Tasks

Web Part Enabled Home Pages

In the Enterprise Console, users can see four web parts - Inbox, BAM, Calendar, and Queue. In addition to these, AVEVA Work Tasks also provides three default home pages to work with.

Home page is like any other web page, a web part enabled page, to which AVEVA Work Tasks has provided multiple webpartzones, where the user can place web parts. A home page can also be used as the landing page based on the security group rights.

By default, AVEVA Work Tasks provides three home page templates. Based on the security group, the home page will be set as the landing page for the users who belong to that security group. Also, the users can change the personalization settings of the home pages based on security rights.

See Web Part Rights for more information.

Let us understand the Home Pages using a scenario. In a typical IT organization, we can find three levels of employees - Senior Developers, Division Head, and CEO. AVEVA Work Tasks home pages are assigned to each of these levels, based on the four default security groups. The Senior Developer is assigned to the Reader security group; Division Head is assigned to the Contributor group; and CEO is assigned to the Administrator group. However, the fourth security group, Limited Access, is not attached to any home page. Users assigned to this group can only view the Inbox.

Even the default web parts are placed in these home pages according to the security group the user belongs to. However, the Inbox or work item web part is common for all security groups and will be a user-specific Inbox.
