Steps to Perform Attach DataSource

The following are steps to perform attach datasource:

1. Backup and restore the repository database from source to destination database server.

2. Navigate to Central Configuration.

3. Create the datasource with the backed up database. For more information, see Create Repository DataSource.

4. Create the repository with the datasource created in Step 3.

5. Select the Attach DataSource option.

   All the repositories associated to the selected datasource will be listed under Repositories in the selected datasource option.

6. Select a repository and enter name for the new repository.

   This name can be same as the name in the source machine or different from the source machine which is not listed in the destination machine.

7. Select a resource provider for the new repository.

   The resource provider should be same as of the previous one.

   If the repository is associated with multiple providers or a single provider, then select Attach Providers check box from the Resource Provider.

8. Select other default options and click OK.

   This will copy the repository details of the source to destination machine.

Note:
-It is recommended not to change the resource provider while performing Attach DataSource.

-AVEVA Work Tasks product version, including Hotfix, if any, should be same between Source and Destination.

-It is recommended not to perform Attach DataSource when the backup database has large transactional records. The completed records must be archived periodically.
