AVEVA Work Tasks services are monitored for the maintenance. As part of the maintenance, these services are restarted. Services can be restarted on a recurring bases. Recurring frequency can be weekly or monthly. Weekly can be every Saturday or Sunday or a combination of them. Monthly can be every first day of the month or second day of the month or combination of them.

Syntax for the configuration is as given below:

<MaintainanceRestart RestartAt="01:00" WeeklyRestartDay="Sat,Sun" MonthlyRestartMonths="Jan,Feb" MonthlyRestartDate="1" />

  • RestartAt is the time at which the services need to be restarted. Specify the value in the 24 hours format. E.g.: 23:00. This is a mandatory attribute.

  • WeeklyRestartDay is the week day(s) on which the services need to be restarted.

    Specify the value as first 3 letters of the day, separated by comma. E.g.: Sun,Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri,Sat

    Specify the value as “All” if the services need to be restarted on all days. E.g.: All

  • MonthlyRestartMonths is the month on which the services need to be restarted.

    Specify the value for “MonthlyRestartMonths” as the first 3 letters of a month. E.g.: Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,Jun,Jul,Aug,Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec

    Specify “All” if you want to monitor the services for all the months. E.g.: All

  • MonthlyRestartDate is the date on which the services need to be restarted. Ensure that you configure both the attributes together.

    Specify the value for “MonthlyRestartDates” attribute as comma separated dates. E.g.: 29,30,1,2,3 .

    If the values for both weekly and monthly attributes are mentioned, then the services will be restarted on both the days.

Either Weekly Restart configuration, Monthly Restart configuration, or a combination of both can be present.

In the example given below, restart happens on every Saturday and Sunday at 1AM.

<MaintainanceRestart RestartAt="01:00" WeeklyRestartDay="Sat,Sun" MonthlyRestartMonths="" MonthlyRestartDate="" />

In the example given below, restart happens on the first of every month at 1AM. If a date mentioned in the configuration file is not present (for example February does not have 30 days), then that value is skipped.

<MaintainanceRestart RestartAt="01:00" WeeklyRestartDay="" MonthlyRestartMonths="All" MonthlyRestartDate="1" />

In the example given below, restart happens every Saturday, Sunday, and on the first of every month.

<MaintainanceRestart RestartAt="01:00" WeeklyRestartDay="Sat,Sun" MonthlyRestartMonths="All" MonthlyRestartDate="1" />
